My grandfather, Jay B. Linehan started with a bowling alley in that building. I remember visiting him when I was 13. Later he changed it to a country western music venue and then Rock-N-Roll. Although Mr. Epstein was the major force in the success of the club, I can't help feel somewhat nostalgic as I remember back. I lived in Arizona during the years the club was popular. I did come out to Roslyn in the summer of '75 when I was 19 and enjoyed the benefits of being family. It was one big party and the atmosphere was often 'electric' and the crowds were outrageous as were the acts. I remember seeing dr. hook and the medicine show and the atlanta rhythm section, janis ian and so many other great acts. It was a great summer for me. Thanks for establishing this site. Although Mr. Epstein was so instrumental in making this club so successful I will alway remeber it as My (Grand) Father's Place.

I was at Glen Cove library last night and really enjoyed the memories. Sorry, had to leave early, but I do have a MFP story.

I grew up with Charley (Charles) Koppelman in Laurelton Queens, was there when the Ivy Three was formed, double dated with Charles and Bunny and know the family well. I was a jazz drummer for many years and the drums were always set up in the house. My son took an interest at age 8 and later on formed a band with Peter Zizzo who was friends with of all people Brian Koppelman. Brian leter booked the band. WHITE HEAT, into My Father's Place in the early 1980's and that part of the history of MFP is so important. Eppy provided a venue for local teen bands to display their talents and live their dreams when no one else would. Who knows how many kid bands played their first "concert" at MFP? I was one of those dads who shlepped the drums from performance to performance.

Fast forward 30+ years and we find Brian a successful movie screen writer, Peter
a talanted song writer and producer and my son Michael in business as a print broker. However, two weeks ago he appeared at a re-union performacne with a band he later formed called TAKASHI at the Crazy Donkey and Dee Schneider showed up and sang two sings.

Thank you Eppy for providing Long Islanders with our own rock mecca to see the future greats when prices were affordable, and for your new efforts to grow the MFP brand. Good Luck!!

My name was Susan Wexler and I have fond memories of MFP and Ethan. I remember seeing ten NY Dolls. Since I was underage I really couldn't go in but managed to get in on that one occasion -lucky me. Eppy gave me and girlfriend tickets to see Squeeze somewhere in Long Beach ? Would love to connect with Ethan -it's been along time since my days in Roslyn
